Originally from Washington, DC, Jason Talley (MFA 2008) moved to New York in 2006 after graduating from the Corcoran College of Art. While at the Academy, Jason was awarded two of the schools highest honors - the StratReal Foundation Grant, a scholarship program where Jason mentored New York City public school children, and the Prince of Wales Foundation Scholarship, a summer Residency in Normandy, France. Since graduation, Jason's work has been in galleries throughout New York, including Island Weiss, Dean Projects, Lyons Weir, KGB and Sloan Fine Art. A full-time painter, Jason worked in his studio at 1717 Troutman and as well as at Yigal Ozeri studios.
On August 27, 2012 Jason Talley (MFA 2008) was diagnosed with AML Leukemia and he passed away on August 3, 2013. His passion, hard-workmanship, creativeness and love inspired many others. The New York Academy of Art offers a scholarship in Jason Talley's memory.
